History: Christianity is new to Nepal. There was no known Christians before 1950. There were no formal missionary training institutions in Nepal before the multiparty democracy was ushered in 1990s. Jesus College/Kathmandu International University is one of the pioneer of Christian theological & Missiological higher educational institution established with a vision of evangelizing Nepal & Nepalese living in the Himalayas and around the world.
Contemporary situation: Jesus College, is the center for theological & Missiological study in Nepal. It was established in 1989 for the evangelization of the Himalayas (Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan, North India, Burma) as the Nepalese diaspora around the globe. To this day, over 1000 students have come and gone at Jesus College. Christian growth has been very rapid in the last two decades. Churches are multiplying and there is an urgent need of equipping church leaders.

Location: Nakhipot 14, Lalitpur, Kathmandu
Population: 33 million
Religions: Hindus: 80 % , Buddhists: 12%, Muslims: 4%, Christians: 2%, Others: 2 %
Our mandate: Jesus commanded us to go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. We take Jesus’ words seriously and equip our students to do the works of evangelization.
Our strategy: We plan to produce 10,000 well informed & passionate leaders. We bring them in and send them out as missionaries to evangelize all over the Himalayas.
Finance: One student will need $100 USD a month for his/her education at Jesus College if we are to provide proper diet, facility and good teachers. Will you kindly adopt a student and contribute towards the fulfilling the great commission of Jesus in Nepal?
